Temporary residence permits
TEMPORARY RESIDENCE PERMITS
Before your apply for a temporary residence permit, you have to take into account what document you will need to attach to your application. There are some documents which must be attached to every single residence permit application, but depending on the type of residence permit you are applying for, you will also need to attach different documents.
For temporary residence permits, you will always need to enclose the following documents as evidence of your personal and financial status.
Personal Information:
- rental agreement / courtesy use of accommodation / property sheet of real estate property
- TAJ-card / private health insurance
- full copy of valid passport (valid for more than 6 months from the end of the requested permit)
- recent passport photo (not older than 3 months)
Financial information:
- bank account statements for the past 3 months
- current bank balance
- NAV personal income tax certificate
In addition to the above documents, depending on the type of residence permit you are applying for, you will need to submit the following documents.
For a residence permit for employment purposes, Hungarian Card, and the EU-Blue Card, you have to submit the following information related to your employment:
- (preliminary) employment contract
- employer's payment slips for past 3 months
- labour shortage declaration / exemption letter
For a residence permit for guest self-employment, you will have to provide the following documents related to your business:
- business plan
- registration certificate of individual entrepreneurship / company's registration certificate
- client contracts AND invoices
- lawful use of registered seat
For a White Card application, you will need to provide information related to your employment AND pertaining to your employer's business:
- employment contract
- employer's payment slips for past 3 months of at least EUR3000 as salary
- company's registration certificate
- company's statement of it's business activities and revenues
For a residence permit of study purposes, you have to provide related to your studies:
- acceptance letter from your school/university
- proof of payment of the tuition fee for 2 semesters / scholarship grant
For family reunification residence permit, you will need to submit your AND your spouse's information:
- marriage certificate
- spouse passport/residence permit
- spousal statement of financial support
- spouse's employment contract
- spouse's employer's payment slips for past 3 months
- spouse's bank account statements for past 12 months
- spouse's NAV personal income tax certificate for the past year
- child's birth certificate
- child's passport
If you also wish to work in Hungary while holding family reunification, you must also submit information related to your potential employment in the single application procedure:
- (preliminary) employment contract
- employer's payment slips for past 3 months
- labour shortage declaration / exemption letter
